LUCRETIUS – Di Tito Lucrezio Caro Della natura delle cose libri sei tradotti in Verso Sciolto da Alessandro Marchetti Lettore di Filosofia, e Matematiche dell’Università di Pisa ed Accademico della Crusca col testo latino a fronte; si aggiunge L’Anti-Lucrezio del Card. di Polignac tradotto da D. Francesco Maria Ricci – 1761. In Lausanna a spese di Domenico Deregni. Full leather with gilt title and floral ornaments at the spine, raised bands, fore-edges coloured in red, decorated endpapers; octavo, cm 20,8 x 15; 2 tomes bound in one volume; pagg. (3b) (2) XXVIII 279 (1b), (2b) 352 (2b); binding a little worn at the bottom edge, some wormholes at the spine, some wormholes also at both the endpapers, at the first leaf and at the last three ones, back board a little loosened but still very attached, internals are very good, strong paper, wide margins. Copper engraved full-page allegorical frontispiece, copper engraved allegorical mark at the title page, Latin text in italic, parallel Italian translation. Although the place of printing is indicated in Lausanne on the title page, most likely this is an edition printed in Venice, where Deregni based his printing business. The classic and most important work from Lucretius, here presented in the original Latin and in the Italian translation, in kind of elegant typographical re-issue from the second half of the XVIII century
