(2b) (6) 91 (3b) (5) [96 – 218] (4) [219-353] (1b) (31) (1b), (12) 172 (4) [173-268] [271-370] (18) (2b); damaged binding, some lacks (especially) at the spine and both hinges, lacking title page of the first part/first books and of the second part/eights book, also lacking the first ten pages of the first part (two inscriptions and one index), these lacks apart, text complete; first frontispiece with paper reinforcements on the verso, some light stains, a few wormholes not affecting the text, little tear of 2 cm circa on page 307/308 with minor text loss. Old ex libris on the first endpaper (name of the owner erased though), two full pages copper engraved frontispieces (one for each tome) with the Author’s portrait and complex architectural frame, initials, headings and endings in woodcut, 76 full page copper engraved plates (32 in the first part, 44 in the second one) and 8 double page ones (7 in the first part, 1 in the second one). Second – pretty scarce – edition (the first dates back to 1615) of the Scamozzi’s masterpiece, which was planned to be made of ten books, but the Author only compiled six of them (book I, II and III in the first part, VI, VII and VIII in the second one). Vincenzo Scamozzi was one of the most important Renaissance architects and his Idea della Architettura Universale (although he never got to complete it) was for sure an important milestone for the XVII and XVIII century architecture, probably second only to the Palladio’s works
